Mentorship Program

The Mentorship Program matches undergraduates with faculty, graduate students, and postdoctoral fellows in the Faculty of Science. Mentors will be able to provide undergraduate students with guidance, coaching, and detailed information on biological research, skill development, and career exploration.

Who Can Apply?

All UBC students studying biological sciences are welcome to apply to the BUDR program. Priority will be given to students belonging to underrepresented groups in biology. These include but are not limited to: Indigenous, Black, other underrepresented racial and ethnic groups, disabled, 2SLGBTQIA+, Neurodivergent, low-income, first in family to attend university, intersections of multiple identities

For Mentees

Are you an UNDERGRADUATE STUDENT interested in scientific research and being matched with a mentor?

Biology Students from underrepresented groups will receive mentorship from researchers in various scientific fields such as Botany, Zoology, Earth Science, and more!

Are you a GRAD STUDENT, POST-DOC, FACULTY OR STAFF MEMBER looking to be matched with mentee(s)?

Mentors create a supportive and inclusive environment for undergraduate students to explore and discuss scientific research, academic life, essential skillsets, and future careers.
